- Review
- Examines Gower's use of rhyme royal in both French and English works: in "In Praise of Peace," "Cinkante Ballades," "TraitiƩ pour essampler les amantz marietz," and the "supplicacioun" from CA, concluding that whereas Gower learned from Chaucer's explorations in rhyme royal, he contributed something special in Ricardian poetics though his unique experiments in French forms and in philosophical love poetry.
